The Economic Freedom Fighters Commander in Chief Julius Malema addressed the media on the meeting the party had on Friday. Malema read a statement of the outcomes of the meeting; the EFF declares 2018 the year of healthcare. This program will attend to issues of incompetent nurses, doctors and hospital managers. The party said it will establish a healthcare office where people will be able to lay complains which will be addressed by the party.
Malema also cautioned against some members of the new Eskom board, saying some of them are too close to the president on the ANC Cyril Ramaphosa and some captains of industries such as the Ruperts. Malema hinted that the EFF will go to court if Zuma will be the one presenting SONA when Parliament reopens. He is convinced that the party has been influential in society since its establishment and continues to be the leader of society even the ruling party.

A march initiated by Black First Land first took place on Monday at Luthuli house. The march took an ugly turn when members of the ANC attacked one member on the BLF, the group were quickly stopped by the police. The top leadership of the ANC was in a meeting during the march apparently discussing the future of president Jacob Zuma.
